Weekend workshop: My Clay Journey
Create in a small group and achieve success with your immediate goals in clay.
This workshop is for people at any stage in their clay journey, facilitated by Amanda Andlee Poland.
By the end of the workshop you will have produced works in clay, using your preferred approach with an understanding of the process from start to finish, of your product/s. The weekend program will be tailored to your interests.
There is opportunity to work on the wheel, use the slab roller, combine hand building techniques and utilise a variety of pre firing decoration techniques.
Works can then be fired and collected at a later date. Glazing is optional.
Day 1
Introduction to techniques and processes: Hand-building, wheel work, slab roller work
Individual project design and working with guidance
Day 2
Introduction to decoration and surface treatment: Surface texture, carving, additive techniques, underglaze, scraffito
Decoration, trimming and finishing of individual works

What is included
Refreshments provided (morning tea and vegetarian garden platter for lunch)
Materials: a bag of clay (Stoneware), and materials for decoration and tools and equipment
What to bring: apron, any favourite clay tools, sun protection eg sunscreen/hat /glasses (some time will be spent outdoors)
